An ABAB design with a data table and honest limitations Writing it up because I had to work it out twice and would rather nobody else did.

An honest uncertainty about ABAB design rather than a disguised assertion.

I do not know the answer and I have not been able to find one. What I have is the shape of the question, which may be worth more than my guess at the answer.

A single-person experiment can be genuinely informative if it has a pre-specified outcome, a defined period, and a plan written before the data arrives. Most accounts here have none of those.

Stating my assumptions rather than smuggling them in.

The opening post and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction.

Withdrawal and reintroduction is the strongest design available to an individual, and it only works for effects that reverse on a timescale you can observe.
