Distinguishing a red flag from an inconvenience

Solved
Solved by impurity_table in post #3
Inconsistency across documents: a certificate stating one purity, a website claiming another, and a supplier's verbal representation claiming a third, all on the same product, is a red flag for either incompetence or deception.

Distinguishing a red flag from an inconvenience — setting out what I have, and where I think it stops being reliable.

Something about distinguishing a red flag does not reconcile and I would like a second pair of eyes before I decide which half is wrong.

Two sources, both reputable, giving figures that cannot both be right unless they are measuring different quantities. My suspicion is that they are, and I cannot see how.

This follows the opening post rather than contradicting it.

Evasion when asked: if a supplier does not clarify when asked specifically for method details, counter-ion form, or batch origin, that itself is a red flag worth documenting.

Not the answer, but possibly the question that gets there.
