My understanding of metformin co-administration is a few years old and may have been superseded. If it has been, I would genuinely like to know rather than keep repeating it.
Metformin co-administration and additive GI effects
Taking post #14 at face value and following it one step further.
The version of metformin co-administration that circulates here is a simplification of a simplification. It is not wrong, but it has lost the conditions under which it holds, and those conditions are where the interesting cases live.
Thank you for the correction. I would rather find out here than later.
Where a published interaction study exists it usually reports an area-under-curve ratio, and that number is far more informative than a yes-or-no answer.
Worth separating two things that post #30 runs together.
A request rather than an answer: could whoever has the primary source for metformin co-administration post it? I have seen the claim three times this month and each version had lost a qualifier.
