A narrow question about Stability of BPC-157, deliberately narrow, because the broad version has been asked here four times and produced four long threads and no answer.

One question, stated units, stated method, and what I have already ruled out.

Something worth flagging about Stability of BPC-157: the strongest-sounding claims in this thread are the ones with no source attached, which is the usual pattern and not a coincidence.

This follows post #2 rather than contradicting it.

Reframing Stability of BPC-157 slightly, because I think the disagreement is about the question rather than the answer. If the question is "does it happen", yes. If it is "how often", nobody here knows.

Worth separating two things that the opening post runs together.

Nothing in this subcategory is medical advice and several members here are describing experiments on themselves. Both of those things should be stated plainly rather than implied.

I keep a log of this specifically because memory is unreliable about it.

Publication patterns in the BPC-157 literature: a large proportion of the evidence comes from one research group. That is not necessarily wrong — one group can do excellent work — but it is worth noting when evaluating the breadth of support for a claim.

Analytical identity of BPC-157: a 15-residue peptide with an unambiguous mass (≈1419.5 Da). Identity confirmation by LC-MS is trivially easy, which means there is no excuse for an unverified identity on this compound.

Stating my assumptions rather than smuggling them in.

The claim about Stability of BPC-157 upthread is stronger than its source supports. I have read the source. The source says "associated with" and the post says "causes".

Dose-response is unstudied in humans for essentially everything in this family, which means the confident numbers in circulation came from somewhere other than a trial.

I have seen it go both ways, which is why I hedge.

Where I part company with post #9, and it is a narrow parting.

Stability of BPC-157: I would want to see the raw numbers rather than the summary before agreeing. Summaries lose exactly the information that would settle this.

Stability of BPC-157 in solution: what has been measured in published work covers specific formulations under specific conditions. Extrapolating to a reconstituted preparation in a different diluent at a different concentration is an extrapolation, acknowledged as one.

Oral versus injected administration claims for BPC-157: the preclinical work studied injection. Oral claims are common in supplier marketing and poorly supported by published evidence. If you are comparing orality between compounds, that is a distinction worth noting.

The literature is thinner on this than the confidence in the thread implies.

Coming back to post #11, because the follow-up matters more than the original answer.

The bit of Stability of BPC-157 that nobody enjoys is that the answer changes depending on what you are trying to decide with it. Say what the decision is and the thread will converge.

BPC-157's published evidence is overwhelmingly preclinical and mostly rodent. That is not a dismissal — it is the state of the literature, and any discussion that starts elsewhere is starting from something that is not there.

The lyophilised cake is worth looking at before adding diluent. A collapsed or shrunken cake is not a purity finding but it does say something about how the vial was made and how it travelled.

Taking post #20 at face value and following it one step further.

The absence of adequately powered published randomised human trials is the central fact about BPC-157. This site states that plainly rather than hedging. Mechanistic plausibility does not substitute for it.

Reading it back, the second half matters more than the first.

Post #18 and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction.

What I would want before treating Stability of BPC-157 as settled: the method, the sample, and whether anyone tried to find the opposite result. Two of the three are usually missing.

This follows post #23 rather than contradicting it.

The pentadecapeptide sequence is short and stable enough to survive conditions that would degrade a larger peptide, which is one of the few things about it that is well characterised.

The short version is the first sentence; the rest is why.

Solubility in this family is generally good, which means a vial that will not go into solution readily is telling you something about the material rather than about the technique.

The uncertainty is in the assumption, not in the calculation.

Small correction to my own earlier position on Stability of BPC-157. I had the units the wrong way round, which changes the conclusion by an order of magnitude and therefore changes it entirely.

Coming back to post #26, because the follow-up matters more than the original answer.

The question underneath Stability of BPC-157 is usually "how would I tell?" rather than "what is true?", and that one has a method attached to it.

Write down what you would expect to see under each hypothesis before you collect anything. If they predict the same observation, collecting it will not help.

A methods point on Stability of BPC-157 rather than a substantive one: if the comparison is not like for like, the difference you are measuring is the difference in method.
