Worth separating two things that post #29 runs together.

Adding the boring version of CJC-1295, because the interesting version keeps getting posted and the boring one is usually right.

Check the ordinary explanations, in order, and stop when one of them accounts for what you are seeing. Most of the time the second one does.

CJC-1295 exists in two forms in circulation — with and without the drug affinity complex — and they have very different half-lives. Product descriptions frequently do not say which, and the difference is not cosmetic.

It is worth checking rather than assuming, which costs nothing.

The confident answers on CJC-1295 and the well-sourced answers are not the same answers, which is the most useful thing I have learned reading this category.

Practical note on CJC-1295: write down what you expect before you look. The number of times I have found what I went looking for is higher than chance would allow.

Picking up post #34: that is the part I would want checked first.

Storage: these are lyophilised short peptides and are generally reasonably stable dry and considerably less so in solution. Reconstituting only what will be used within the period the supplier's own data covers is the conservative approach.

i.broberg, post #18: GHRH analogues versus ghrelin mimetics are often conflated but they are different mechanisms. GHRH analogues (like CJC-1295) cause the pituitary to release growth hormone. Ghrelin mimetics (like GHRPs) act on the ghrelin receptor directly. The effect on growth hormone secretion is similar but the mechanisms are distinct. Go to post

A purity figure without a method for a short peptide is nearly uninterpretable, because short peptides can be run on gradients that resolve almost nothing and still produce a clean-looking trace.

Second-hand, so weight it accordingly.

CJC-1295 is one of those subjects where the general answer and the answer for a specific case diverge, and the thread will go in circles until someone says which one is being asked for.

Injection-site reactions are reported more often in this family than for the incretins. Whether that is the compounds or the preparations they are typically supplied in is not established.

Happy to expand any of that if it is the useful part.

Post #40 and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction.

Posting my CJC-1295 numbers with the method attached so they can be discounted properly. Uncontrolled, unblinded, and collected by someone who wanted a particular answer.

CJC-1295: I have looked for the primary source twice and failed twice. Either it does not exist or it is somewhere I do not know to look, and I would like to know which.

On analysis: these are short peptides and generally straightforward chromatographically, which means a poor purity result is more likely to reflect the synthesis than the method.

Reconstitution volumes in this family are often small enough that dead volume in the syringe is a meaningful fraction of the dose. A fixed-needle insulin syringe is worth the trouble here specifically.

They cannot show magnitude of effect in humans or safety profile in humans. That gap is larger for secretagogues than for incretin agonists because the human evidence is thinner. CJC-1295 has a well-known answer and a correct answer, and the interesting work is establishing that they are the same. Nobody has done that here yet.

Confirming post #55 from a second method, which matters more than confirming it from a second person.

CJC-1295 with and without DAC: the version with a drug affinity complex binds albumin covalently and persists for days. The version without it does not persist. Supplier labelling frequently does not distinguish them clearly, so confirming which you have is important.

That is where I would start, not where I would stop.

Post #55 describes the usual case. This is about the unusual one.

Reframing CJC-1295 slightly, because I think the disagreement is about the question rather than the answer. If the question is "does it happen", yes. If it is "how often", nobody here knows.
