Follow-up: Interpreting a composition change that is within the error bars

Solved
Solved by sterile_file in post #3
Resting metabolic rate: body composition affects metabolic rate. As fat mass decreases and lean mass is maintained, metabolic rate is usually maintained better than with simple weight loss alone. Marking that as an opinion rather than a finding.

Interpreting a composition change that is within the error bars Writing it up because I had to work it out twice and would rather nobody else did.

Asking about Interpreting a composition change directly, because I have read four threads on it and each answered a slightly different question.

The version I want answered is the narrow one: given the method stated below, is the result within what anyone else has seen? I am not asking what it means yet.

Method, numbers and the two assumptions I am aware of making are below. If the assumptions are wrong that is more useful to me than agreement.

DXA on the same machine with the same technician has a least significant change for lean mass of roughly a kilogram, sometimes more. Below that, two scans are the same scan.

I would be glad to be shown a cleaner way of putting this.
