I read post #5 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.
The version of Tracking intake that I was taught turned out to be a teaching simplification. Useful, and not true in the way I had assumed it was.
Adding the measurement that post #9 says would settle it.
Fibre and fluid tend to fall alongside protein when intake drops, and the constipation reported here follows from that as much as from the mechanism.
The reasoning is more useful than the number, which is why I have shown it.
I had written a reply contradicting post #30 and deleted it. Here is what survived.
Eating anything at all: on substantial appetite suppression, eating enough total calories to maintain lean mass is the priority. Protein comes second to total intake.
The mechanism is plausible, which is not the same as established.
Timing of protein: spreading protein intake across the day, with some at each meal, is more practical than trying to hit the whole target at one sitting on suppressed appetite.
Tracking intake for a week rather than permanently is usually enough to find out whether there is a problem. Permanent tracking has its own costs.
I had written a reply contradicting post #83 and deleted it. Here is what survived.
I read the earlier replies on Tracking intake twice before writing this, because I had assumed the opposite and wanted to be sure I was disagreeing with what was said rather than what I expected.
