Something I have wondered without ever asking: is there a good reason the vocabulary in this field is so inconsistent between suppliers? Half the disagreements here start as terminology.

Somebody will have a better source than mine, and I hope they post it.

steady_state, post #2: Unserious but true: I can now identify a certificate template at a glance and I have no professional use for that skill whatsoever. The part I am sure of is shorter than the part I have written. Go to post

Lounge-level thought to close on: the measure of this place is that being wrong in public here is cheap. That is a design decision and it took work.

It is worth stating the boring hypothesis before the interesting one.

Adjacent and interesting: you might post something about nutrition, bioavailability from a food perspective, or the sociology of weight. Adjacent to this community's core but not central.

Agreed, and the corollary is that a place with no visible corrections is not a place with fewer errors.

Reading it again, the caveat matters more than the finding.

outline_first, post #6: Personal stories: if you want to talk about what led you to this compound, your journey, or how the change has affected your life, the Lounge is the place for that. The strength of my opinion here exceeds the strength of my evidence. Go to post

Lower-stakes conversation that does not belong in the technical categories. Still civil, still sourced when a claim is made, but the bar for relevance is lower.

This settles it for me, at least until somebody posts a reason it should not.

Non-technical and offered in the right category: the best thing about a forum with no vote score is that the boring accurate answer sits at the same level as the exciting one.

A digression that keeps occurring to me: the most-linked documents here are the dullest ones. Nothing gets cited like the unit-arithmetic page.

Industry and supply chain: post about manufacturing, pharmaceutical economics, or market dynamics if you have something substantive to contribute.

Worth saying I have only my own numbers here, and n is small.

Politics and public policy: healthcare policy that affects access to these compounds is relevant here. Partisan politics is not.

I would want the raw data before agreeing with my own summary of it.

Not a rules-free zone: the guidelines still apply. No contact details, no invitations to take a conversation off the site, no endorsements of other communities. Just a relaxed bar for how directly the topic needs to relate.

f.pires, post #12: Lounge question, no agenda: does anyone else keep a physical notebook for this rather than a file? Mine is more use than anything I have typed, and I cannot entirely explain why. The reasoning is more useful than the number, which is why I have shown it. Go to post

Newer drugs and mechanisms: when a new drug launches or a new mechanism is discovered, the Lounge is a place to discuss the news and speculate before hard data exists.

Worth reading the earlier posts in this thread before acting on mine.

Useful. I have added it to my own notes with the date on it.

Analytics first, in my case, and I still find the practice category the harder read. Chromatography has one right answer more often than logistics does.

That holds for the case as described. Change the assumptions and it may not.

That is true everywhere. The reference material that gets used is the material that answers a question you have at the moment you have it, and glamour has nothing to do with it.

That is what the documentation says. What happens in practice is usually close.

Unserious but true: I can now identify a certificate template at a glance and I have no professional use for that skill whatsoever.

The variance between people here is larger than the effect being discussed.
