How this community escalates rather than diagnoses — does this still hold?

Solved Wiki
Solved by h.varga in post #4
Allergic-type reactions with breathing difficulty or swelling are an emergency rather than a topic, and this subcategory says so in its own guidance. Not the whole picture, but the part of it I can speak to.

The question in the title: How this community escalates rather than diagnoses — does this still hold? I will give what I have already checked below so nobody repeats it.

Working notes on community escalates rather than a conclusion. I would rather post the reasoning while it can still be corrected than post the answer once I am committed to it.

Everything below is checkable. Where I have taken a figure from somewhere else I have said where; where I have estimated, I have said that too.

Appreciated. The plain phrasing does more work here than a longer post would.

The opening post put the caveat in the right place and I want to underline it.

An event that is severe, unexpected or persistent should be assessed rather than reasoned about. The asymmetry between the cost of being checked and the cost of being wrong is the whole basis of that.

Speaking for myself and not for anyone else who has posted here.

Research-use-only material carries no safety surveillance of any kind, which is a reason for more caution rather than less.
