Nothing here should be read as an accusation against a named company, and the guidelines exist so that reports remain reports.
A supplier who responds to a discrepancy with silence — what changed since posts 61–89
This is a continuation of a long topic, addressed by post number rather than by page. Start at post 1.
Taking post #60 at face value and following it one step further.
A request rather than an answer: could whoever has the primary source for supplier post it? I have seen the claim three times this month and each version had lost a qualifier.
Post #63 put the caveat in the right place and I want to underline it.
For anyone finding this later: the short answer on supplier is that it depends on one thing, and the rest of the thread is people identifying which thing.
Building on post #63 rather than restating it.
Supplier is one of those subjects where the general answer and the answer for a specific case diverge, and the thread will go in circles until someone says which one is being asked for.
Prices well below the rest of the market are a fact rather than a finding. They are worth noting and they do not establish anything on their own.
One case, stated as one case.
Safety documentation absent: a supplier that cannot provide information about sterility testing, endotoxin testing, or safety documentation when asked is raising flags.
Saving this. It is the version I will quote when the question comes round again.
My position on supplier is current rather than settled. I have revised it once already and I expect to again, so treat it accordingly.
Clear enough that I do not think I have a follow-up, which is unusual.
Narrowing post #73, because the general version has more than one answer.
An honest declaration on supplier: I have a prior here and it is strong enough that you should weight what I say downward. Stating it rather than hiding it.
Prices well below the rest of the market are a fact rather than a finding. They are worth noting and they do not establish anything on their own.
Post #78 answers the question as asked. The question underneath it is different.
Posting my supplier numbers with the method attached so they can be discounted properly. Uncontrolled, unblinded, and collected by someone who wanted a particular answer.
The most useful contribution to this subcategory is a resolved case written up with the resolution, because the unresolved ones are all anyone remembers.
That is my reading. Someone else read the same page differently and was reasonable.

Where somebody posts a concern, ask what would resolve it before arguing about it. Half of these threads end with a document nobody had asked for.
I would want a second opinion before relying on that.
Post #81 answers the question as asked. The question underneath it is different.
Practical note on supplier: write down what you expect before you look. The number of times I have found what I went looking for is higher than chance would allow.
Evasion when asked: if a supplier does not clarify when asked specifically for method details, counter-ion form, or batch origin, that itself is a red flag worth documenting.
I am describing what is, rather than arguing for what should be.
Inconsistency across documents: a certificate stating one purity, a website claiming another, and a supplier's verbal representation claiming a third, all on the same product, is a red flag for either incompetence or deception.
None of the above is medical advice and I am not qualified to give any.

On post #85 — agreed on the reasoning, with one qualification.
Rapid supplier turnover: a supplier that changes corporate structure, domain name, or contact repeatedly in short time windows raises suspicion about stability and legitimacy.
