The opening post is right about the mechanism and I think understates the practical bit.

Genuine question rather than a rhetorical one: has anyone here actually observed airline travel, as opposed to read about it? The thread is long and I cannot tell.

Confirming post #4 from a second method, which matters more than confirming it from a second person.

The honest summary: pack quality is visible, transit history is not, and only the second determines what happened to the material.

v.krastev, post #1: Posting this under the heading it deserves: Airline travel with a temperature-sensitive injectable Everything below is what sits behind that. Airline travel: setting out the arithmetic in full, because I have had to do it twice and I would rather nobody else did. Every step is shown. If the answer is wrong the error will be visible,… Go to post

Shipment during summer or to hot climates: consider shipping to a cold-storage facility rather than to home if temperatures will be high. Alternatively, time shipment to arrive when you can refrigerate immediately.

Summer routes and winter routes are genuinely different problems, and a supplier that changes its packing between them is doing something rather than nothing.

Narrowing post #17, because the general version has more than one answer.

Recording arrival condition on ordinary deliveries is what makes the record useful. A file containing only the bad arrivals cannot tell you how often they happen.

On reflection I would soften that slightly.
