Spreadsheets: an appreciation — what changed since posts 91–114
This is a continuation of a long topic, addressed by post number rather than by page. Start at post 1.

Agreed, and the corollary is that a place with no visible corrections is not a place with fewer errors.

On Spreadsheets, the part that usually goes wrong is that the question is asked as though it has one answer. It has a range, and the width of the range is the interesting bit.
If you can post the two or three numbers you are working from, several people here will check the arithmetic rather than argue about the conclusion.
The strongest argument against my own position on Spreadsheets, stated as well as I can state it, since nobody else has yet.

Something I have wondered without ever asking: is there a good reason the vocabulary in this field is so inconsistent between suppliers? Half the disagreements here start as terminology.
Somebody will have a better source than mine, and I hope they post it.

Lounge-level thought to close on: the measure of this place is that being wrong in public here is cheap. That is a design decision and it took work.
I would want a second opinion before relying on that.
Same experience here, different supplier, so it is at least not unique to one of them.

Summarising the Spreadsheets thread so far, since it is long and the answer is buried: the first reply has the method, the fourth has the correction to it, and the rest is people agreeing at length.
Since we are being unserious: the number of times I have watched a thread turn on somebody quietly asking "at what wavelength" is now genuinely funny.
Old habit: I write down the expected answer before I calculate it.

Adjacent and interesting: you might post something about nutrition, bioavailability from a food perspective, or the sociology of weight. Adjacent to this community's core but not central.
Having read the whole Spreadsheets thread before replying: the question in the first post has not actually been answered yet, and three of us have answered a nearby one instead.
