What published stability data actually covers, and what it does not — what changed since — that is the question, and I have not found it answered plainly anywhere I have looked.

What changes if the standard account of published stability data actually covers is wrong? I ask because I have been treating it as settled and I noticed this week that I could not say why.

Working through the consequences rather than the evidence, since others here are better placed on the evidence.

Published stability data applies specifically to the formulation studied, under the specific conditions stated. It does not automatically transfer to something reconstituted at home in a different concentration with a different diluent. That caveat is not small.

A supplier stability statement tied to a named storage condition can be evaluated. One that says "store cool" cannot, and the difference between those two documents is larger than it looks.

This is the answer, and the reason it is the answer is the more useful part.
