Revisiting: Power cut for eleven hours: how I assessed it afterwards

Revisiting: Power cut for eleven hours: how I assessed it afterwards — setting out what I have, and where I think it stops being reliable.

A follow-up question about Power cut for eleven hours that I did not know to ask the first time.

The earlier thread answered what I asked. What I should have asked is below, and I think it is the one that matters.

Confirming the opening post from a second method, which matters more than confirming it from a second person.

Speaking only to Power cut for eleven hours as I have actually seen it, rather than as it is usually described: the effect is real, it is smaller than the thread suggests, and the variance between people is larger than the effect.

Temperature excursions in transit are common and are not all equal. A few hours warm is a different event from three days warm, and neither is visible in the vial on arrival.

I have written this out at length because the short version keeps being misread.

Temperature excursions: if a vial sat at room temperature for a time, the question is whether the excursion was long enough to cause damage. Hours at room temperature is usually low risk. Days to weeks raises the risk. If you are unsure, contacting the supplier is more informative than guessing.

Written quickly, so the reasoning may be tighter than the wording.

Noted, and thank you for writing it out rather than summarising it.
