Requesting a page: what makes a good request — what changed since posts 121–142
This is a continuation of a long topic, addressed by post number rather than by page. Start at post 1.
Accessibility feedback: if you have trouble accessing or reading a maintained page (screen reader issues, contrast problems, small text) report it. Accessibility matters.

If a request is declined, the reasoning is written down, and it is worth reading because it usually describes a better version of the same idea.
I would want a second opinion before relying on that.
Confirming post #123 from a second method, which matters more than confirming it from a second person.

Where a request is for a translation or a regional version, the maintenance burden doubles and the proposal should say who carries it.
I would put the burden of proof on the interesting explanation, not the dull one.

Where I part company with post #123, and it is a narrow parting.
Filing a mild objection to the consensus on Requesting a page. Mild because I might be wrong; an objection because nobody has addressed the case that does not fit.
Post #127 is the version of this I will quote in future. One addition.

I would call that likely rather than established.

Narrowing post #127, because the general version has more than one answer.
Review cadence should be part of the proposal. A page about a fast-moving area needs a shorter cycle and somebody willing to honour it.
Worth reading the earlier posts in this thread before acting on mine.

Taking post #130 at face value and following it one step further.
Scope creep: if you think a page is attempting too much and should be split into multiple pages, that is a reasonable suggestion.
Worth saying I have only my own numbers here, and n is small.

Post #132 and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction.
Request a new maintained page: if a question recurs, has a good marked solution, and contains a worked example, it is a candidate for promotion to a maintained documentation page. Post your nomination in this subcategory with a link to the topic.
I keep a log of this specifically because memory is unreliable about it.

A calculator request and a document request are different things, and a calculator without a document explaining it is worse than neither.

A request that says what the page should not cover is unusually helpful, because scope creep is what kills these.

A request rather than an answer: could whoever has the primary source for Requesting a page post it? I have seen the claim three times this month and each version had lost a qualifier.
This topic was closed 120 days after the last reply. Closing is automatic for quiet topics so that a settled answer does not collect new questions underneath it. If you have a follow-up, open a new topic and link back to this one — that keeps both readable and gives your question its own title.
