What I would want before treating bring a laboratory as settled: the method, the sample, and whether anyone tried to find the opposite result. Two of the three are usually missing.
Time of day: some biomarkers vary across the day. Cortisol in the morning differs from cortisol in the evening. Comparing results from different times of day is comparing things that are not the same.

Useful. I had the fact and not the reason, which turns out to be the important half.
Repeat before acting is standard practice for an isolated abnormal result on most analytes, and it is standard for a reason.
The bit of bring a laboratory that nobody enjoys is that the answer changes depending on what you are trying to decide with it. Say what the decision is and the thread will converge.

Something worth flagging about bring a laboratory: the strongest-sounding claims in this thread are the ones with no source attached, which is the usual pattern and not a coincidence.
A trend needs at least three points to be a trend. Two points are a line and a line through noise is still a line.
I would want a second opinion before relying on that.
Post #74 answers the question as asked. The question underneath it is different.
Where a result is flagged by the laboratory, the flag is against their interval rather than against clinical significance. Those are different thresholds.
That is all the detail I have. Someone else will have more.
I read post #76 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.
Offering a way to settle bring a laboratory rather than another opinion about it. Two measurements, taken the same way, a fortnight apart. If the difference is within the noise, the question was not answerable at this precision.

Bring a laboratory came up in a thread eighteen months ago and was answered well. I cannot find it, which is itself the problem, so here is the reconstruction.
My understanding of bring a laboratory is a few years old and may have been superseded. If it has been, I would genuinely like to know rather than keep repeating it.
Adding the measurement that post #81 says would settle it.

I am confident about the direction and much less about the magnitude.
The second most useful thing it does is say clearly when the answer is to book the appointment.
Caveat: everything above assumes the paperwork is what it says it is.
Filing a mild objection to the consensus on bring a laboratory. Mild because I might be wrong; an objection because nobody has addressed the case that does not fit.
Confirming post #85 from a second method, which matters more than confirming it from a second person.
Glycaemic markers integrate over different periods. A point glucose and a longer-term marker disagreeing is not a contradiction; it is two different questions.
The number is defensible. The precision I gave it is not.
Reading this bring a laboratory thread as someone who came in with a fixed view: the third and seventh replies moved me and the confident ones did not.
