Bring a laboratory is a good example of a question where the honest answer is boring and the interesting answers are unsupported. I would go with boring.

Adding a small correction to the bring a laboratory summary above rather than a disagreement with it. The substance holds; one of the figures is out by a factor that matters.

t.dumitru, post #27: Bring a laboratory is a question about a distribution, not about a value, and treating it as a value is what produces the confident wrong answers. Go to post

A trend needs at least three points to be a trend. Two points are a line and a line through noise is still a line.

The conclusion is tentative; the arithmetic underneath it is not.
