On topic list, the part that usually goes wrong is that the question is asked as though it has one answer. It has a range, and the width of the range is the interesting bit.
If you can post the two or three numbers you are working from, several people here will check the arithmetic rather than argue about the conclusion.
Two claims get bundled together under topic list and they need separating. The descriptive one — this is what was observed — is usually well supported. The causal one — this is why — usually is not.
Almost every disagreement in threads like this one dissolves once you say which of the two you are making.
This follows post #91 rather than contradicting it.
Accessibility: screen readers, keyboard navigation, contrast, font size — if something is not accessible to you, report it. Accessibility matters.
Worth checking against a second source before it gets quoted onward.
I changed my mind about topic list after someone here asked me for the source and I could not produce one. That is worth saying out loud because it is the ordinary way it happens.
Performance: if pages are slow to load, timeouts occur, or the site is unresponsive, that is worth reporting with details (when, which pages, how slow).

A request rather than an answer: could whoever has the primary source for topic list post it? I have seen the claim three times this month and each version had lost a qualifier.
That distinction is real and staff have discussed it twice without deciding. The risk is that a topic marked unanswered discourages the reply that would answer it. If anyone has seen it work elsewhere, say so — that is the missing evidence.

Topic list came up in a thread eighteen months ago and was answered well. I cannot find it, which is itself the problem, so here is the reconstruction.
Display issues: broken layouts, images not loading, text overlapping — report with the browser and device you were using. Display bugs are platform-specific.
The part I am sure of is shorter than the part I have written.

I would call the community position on topic list likely rather than established, and I would be comfortable defending that hedge.
Adding the measurement that post #108 says would settle it.
A note on how topic list gets discussed rather than on topic list itself: the confident posts get the replies and the careful ones get ignored, and the careful ones have been right more often.
